A very cool place in Death Valley that is not visited much is the Devils Golf Course. It must be named that because only the devil could place on something so evil and hard to walk on. we were treated to a wonderful sunset and came away with lots of good images. During the day Guy Mancuso the instructor on this trip made his presentation and Capture One was presented in the afternoon. Another busy day. And, by the way the food is great and we are all making some super new friends. Truly a great and special group.
This has been a non-stop workshop so far. So much to do so little time to do it. Anyone that has been on a PODAS knows that there is lots of photography and then classroom time. Today we started out in Badwater for dawn. This is an amazing salt flats that are 278 below sea level. The sun comes up over one mountain and lights up the other mountain. What was really special here was we were treated to three fly overs of the B2 bomber. Apparently the Air Force was also taking advantage of the great weather doing photo opps over the mountain ridge.
It has been some interesting weather on this visit. High winds and hot to high winds and cold. There is no better time to visit the dunes than after a windstorm. So, that is what we did on Wednsday morning. The area in Death Valley with the dunes is huge and everyone spread out and came back with their own amazing images. The sun and clouds cooperated with us.
