Join us for one fantastic adventure exploring this photogenic location. PODAS is an all inclusive workshop and includes everything but the airfare. We will pick you up at the airport and return you to the airport, everything else room (single occupancy), food, transportation, instruction and more is included.
The workshop will be lead by the three world renowned photographers Guy Mancuso, Tim Wolcott and Jeff Schewe and backed up by a team of Phase One staff for support and overall assistance. Best of all you will be provided a Phase One P 65+ camera system to use during the workshop. We will also have a few units of the new 80 megapixel IQ180 digital back which at the workshop that all attendees can try. Experience what medium format high end digital capture is all about.
Participants will fly into Las Vegas International airport and will be picked up there by Phase One staff and driven to their accommodations for the week at The Furnace Creek Resort, a luxury hotel in the heart of Death Valley National Park. Each day will be filled with photography and instruction, as well as time to enjoy the resorts facilities, including an 18 hole golf course and swimming pools. All meals are included, and all driving to shooting locations within the park as well as to and from Las Vegas airport are provided in comfortable air-conditioned vans, with lots of room for everyone’s photographic equipment.
Each day will be filled with at least two major multi-hour shooting opportunities at the various remarkable locales within and nearby the park. These include Ubehebe Crater, ghost towns, Dante’s View (5,475 feet above the valley’s floor), Zabriskie Point, Artist’s Palette, Badwater and The Devil’s Golf Course. In addition there will be seminar sessions on a wide variety of topics, including full familiarization sessions on the Phase One camera and backs, as well as on Capture One software, working with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, printing, color management, and field shooting techniques and exploring various camera hardware configurations. At a PODAS workshop you will learn and have fun. This is an extraordinary kind of educational experience and the only one of its kind where everything is included and with access to such a wide range of talented instructors.
