PODAS Photography Workshops

Phase One Digital Artist Series Blog – News & Updates

Copenhagen, July 2013

Dates: July 11-16, 2013
Instructors: Torben Eskerod and Adam Mørk

Man made landscape in Copenhagen

The Danish attention to detail is absolutely stunning. Celebrated architects such as Sir Norman Foster, Henning Larsen, Jean Nouvel and Daniel Libeskind have all left their marks on Copenhagen. Contemporary constructions blend in beautifully with the city’s historical buildings and palaces.

The cityscape in the centre is dominated by four 6-story low-rises, instead of the typical glass and steel high-rises found in other world capitals. The key elements of the recent architectural boom in Copenhagen are water, space and light. We will be working with two world famous, local photographers Adam Mørk and Torben Eskerod, who will make sure that we get access to extraordinary places – spots where you wouldn’t normally go.

Copenhagen is also the home of Phase One. You will meet the hardworking Phase One team and see where the world’s best photography gear is developed and manufactured. Expect a number of the key personnel of Phase One to be shooting next to you, experiencing the same things you do.

You will be eating at some of the finest restaurants in Copenhagen. Copenhagen has a considerable number of highly acclaimed restaurants, and you will be impressed by lovely Nordic cuisine. What a great way to experience this amazing city, culture and its unique charm.

All attendees will be loaned the state-of-the-art Phase One IQ160 camera system (featuring the Phase One DF camera, the 60 megapixel IQ160 digital back and an 80mm LS lens) to shoot with during the workshop. As a PODAS workshop attendee, you will have a no-worries trip. We’ll pick you up at the airport, provide transportation during the event, a single-occupancy room, the best instructors in the field, all your meals and beverages, a camera bag that is yours to keep, a license for Capture One Pro that is yours to keep, and two-30×40 prints of images you shot during the workshop. The only things you need to bring to this workshop are a sturdy tripod, CF cards and your computer. Everything else is taken care of.
